Cord of Steps

Performance, 2024

To exist between burn and pleasure, I built a costume—an extension of the body, stretching beyond its natural edges, distorting its familiar form. It felt alien, yet necessary. More than an object, it became a symbol: a manifestation of the tension between reclaiming my subjectivity and surrendering to external expectations. This wearable sculpture served as both armor and constraint, embodying the struggle between autonomy and imposed identity. In its exaggerated form, it questioned the limits of the self, the weight of expectation, and the space between discomfort and desire.
